About the Brand

Bodum is a globally recognized, design-led brand with a long-standing heritage and presence across multiple international markets. Operating at this scale requires strong brand governance to ensure consistency across a wide range of digital and physical touchpoints, while allowing flexibility for local adaptation.

Role & Scope

I joined Bodum as a Senior Digital Designer and evolved into a Lead Brand Designer role. My responsibilities span brand systems, creative direction and execution, with a focus on ensuring coherence across web, editorial content, campaigns, marketplaces, trade fairs and print communication.
I work closely with internal teams and external partners, supporting both day-to-day execution and long-term brand consistency.

The Challenge

The Challenge

When I joined Bodum, the brand was strengthening its digital presence and expanding its editorial and storytelling efforts to reach broader audiences online. This required clearer structures and visual systems that could support consistent communication across channels and markets.

At the same time, the brand’s commitment to sustainability and transparency needed better integration into everyday communication. Information was often fragmented, making it difficult to translate complex topics into clear, accessible and scalable content.

Beyond digital, physical brand expressions such as packaging also presented structural challenges. Existing solutions were less flexible at scale, creating inefficiencies in production, translation and market adaptation. Any evolution needed to respect the brand’s heritage while enabling more efficient and consistent global application.

Approach

Approach

My approach focused on translating brand principles into practical, scalable systems that could support both editorial storytelling and day-to-day execution.

This involved developing clear visual and editorial frameworks for digital platforms, structuring sustainability narratives into accessible content formats, and collaborating closely with marketing, product teams and external partners to ensure strategy translated consistently across channels.

Systems & Execution

Systems & Execution

The work focused on building and maintaining modular brand systems that could be applied consistently across digital and physical touchpoints. This included templates and design frameworks for web pages, editorial content, newsletters, campaigns and marketplace assets, enabling clarity, efficiency and scalability in day-to-day execution.

The same system logic extended to selected physical assets, including coffee packaging where a standardised base bag combined with adaptable label systems supported market localisation while reducing production complexity.

These systems were implemented across digital platforms and physical brand expressions such as trade fairs, print advertising and retail environments, reinforcing a cohesive global brand presence.

EDITORIAL SYSTEMS

Frameworks and modular structures developed to support consistent storytelling across digital platforms.

CROSS-CHANNEL APPLICATIONS

Implementation of the brand system across campaigns, social media, newsletters and marketplace environments.

PHYSICAL BRAND PRESENCE

Extension of the brand system into retail environments, trade fairs, print communication and packaging.

Impact

Impact

The introduction of scalable brand systems improved consistency across markets and channels while reducing friction in production and adaptation.

Clearer frameworks supported faster rollout of digital and editorial content, better alignment between digital and physical brand expressions, and more efficient solutions for packaging, translation and market-specific communication.
